Decreasing Labor Pain through Sacralist Counter-pressure Therapy Using Tennis Ball in the Mother during the Labor Process

BACKGROUND: Labor pain is a physiological process caused by the contraction of uterus muscle as an effort to open cervix and push baby’s head toward pelvis. One treatments giving nurses reduce counter-pressure therapy. AIM: The aim study was determine effect therapy using tennis balls level in first stage during active phase labor. METHODS: It quasi-experimental with pretest-posttest one group design. population this patients I delivery PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital Temanggung. A total 26 respondents were selected through purposive sampling technique. data analyzed Wilcoxon matched paired test. RESULTS: intensity (100%) labor before treatment categorized severe pain. However, after implementation tenis ball, moderate 18 (69.2%) rest (30.8%). CONCLUSION: Counter-pressure massage ball effective reducing p = 0.000 (α < 0.05).
